Dream Come True

Since 6th grade, when I first started watching Buffy which was on its 6th season, I have been totally infatuated by actor James Marsters.

His incredible British accent and acting abilities were amazing! Some of his scenes were filled with so much awe and emotion that even today when I watch them, I get teary-eyed.

Next was his amazing singing voice, which I first discovered on the musical episode of Buffy. Since then I've also been mesmerized by his musical career as well.

Never in the past 7 years did I imagine that I would ever meet him! I'd always tried to get to his functions but they were always too far or out of state or even out of the country, so when the opportunity came up to see him in a play here, in LA, I jumped at the opportunity!

I can't even say how happy I was to actually see him perform live! And after the show, when Best Friend and I stayed behind to met him and ask for his autograph, he could not have been nicer!!!

Unfortunately, I was completely speechless when we did meet him and felt like a complete loser afterward, but it was still an unforgettable experience and it definitely made it to my list of favorite events!

Of course I can't make out what he's written past the "Bite me" (which he explained he writes on all his autographs because for most of his acting career he's been a vampire and that is what he's best known for, not that I was complaining ) but it still gives me butterflies to look at it.

Here's to dreams, as little as they may be, that bring us happiness.

Summertime girls

Last week, I went to the Santa Monica Promenade with the Best Friend and BF's Ice Skater friend. It was my first time there and I was stunned by how beautiful it was!

For the most part we had fun walking around and sightseeing. Not to mention, proving right the stereotype that valley girls and notorious spenders! I think we were trying to, single handedly, bring the economy out of its depression!

I don't quite understand what was the deal with all the dinosaur themed shrubbery, but at least it was something interesting to look at!

What made it even more interesting was Ice Skater's massive phobia of birds! Of course, it being SoCal and right next to the beach, the place was swamped with fat little pigeons and Seagulls. It was actually somewhat fun to chase away the birds! Like trying to recapture the days of your childhood when you went to the part and chased the birds for the heck of it.

Of course some of these birds were down right stupid and flew right into your face! It happened once to me and once to BF. This did not help ease the IS's fear

Oh Dear, and then there was this guy
<--- the shinny metalic one
who started making odd ticking noises like a robot and following us around. Being the lovely best friend that she is, BF started walking away very fast, leaving a very scared me there to pretend to be a tourist and not speak English!

I think my Russian accent sounded more like Indian!

Note to self: try to improve fake accents!

Livin' the Dream

You gotta love SoCal.

No disrespect to other places but to be I can't think of anything better than being so close to Hollywood, not the mention the beach!

Plus, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!

Being back home for the summer, in the valley, I'm reminded of all that I miss out during the year by being so far from the hubbub.

Driving around the streets in the warm weather with the wind in your hair, the radio playing the hits from last summer, bringing back wonderful memories... ah, there's nothing like it!

SoCal has a spirit of its own.
Sure, it basically consists of crazy, bad drivers, scorching weather, surfer boys, and outrageous fashions but that's its charm! And I would not trade it for a million dollars!

Where else can you walk out of a mall and be surounded by grown men and women in movie costumes, especially a certain Darth Vadar who has a whole in his tights and says, "Who's your daddy?"

I would highly recommend putting in on your must-visit list.

Drive around Hollywood.

See the walk of fame stars.

Go to the beach.

See the sunset.

See Shamu perform.

You'll be amazed by the beauty
I am
Every time I go out.
